Board of Health Minutes 5/2/16
MONTEREY BOARD OF HEALTH MEETING MINUTES

Date:  May 2, 2016
Present:  John Makuc, Roy Carwile, Bob Annelli and Peter Kolodziej
Also present: Julio Rodriguez, Kay Purcell, Millie Church, Peter Vallianos, Marc White and Wayne Dolby

The meeting began at 4pm

1.  The minutes from 3/7/16 were approved.
2.  Peter Vallianos came in with regards to 40 Sylvan Rd – The property is being sold and is in compliance with Title V.  Peter will write a letter for the closing.
3.  Marc White of Kutsher’s Sports Academy came in at the Board’s request to review the progress with regards to correcting code violations cited by the Board.  The pool, waste site and food service violations are still in progress.  Marc stated that the waste site isn’t used by the camp and isn’t located in Monterey; the Board looks at it as waste from Monterey’s side was dumped there.  All of the garbage in the woods has been cleaned up and there is some old scrap metal that needs to be removed and they are working with the Gt. Barrington Board of Health.  The Board suggested that KSA contact CET for any assistance they may be able to provide.
4.  The Board reviewed the ZBA application to appeal the decision of the Building Inspector and have determined that since this is not an application to build but rather an application to appeal a decision made by the Building Inspector they would respond when the building permit or special permit is applied for.
5.  The Board met with members of the Council on Aging and Millie Church of Mt Hunger Rd regarding the status of her property.  Prior to Millie arriving the Board discussed the options available to them which included a show cause hearing.  Millie requested 4 weeks to get the property cleaned up and will report back at the next meeting.  The COA is offering assistance with paying for the dumpster and helping with the cleanup; Millie did sign written consent for the COA and associates to help and be on her property.  Bob Annelli also offered personal monetary assistance (through a donation to the boy scouts if they can help).  The Board and the COA are going to lend assistance in getting emergency temporary housing.  Once the cleanup has been completed the Health Agent and Building Commissioner will make an inspection to deem if the property is safe and habitable.

The meeting adjourned at 6pm
